L30 have been working with Walsall Children’s Services since 2015 providing restorative practice training to all staff in the organisation. Mark is recognised and respected nationally as a leading exponent of restorative practice having worked with Local Authorities across the UK. Mark’s enthusiasm and passion for restorative practice has inspired staff throughout Walsall Children’s Services.

Mark and his L30 colleagues bring a complete culture and practice change programme to local authority children’s social work which refocuses leaders and practitioners on the strengths in families, effective relationships and the need for respectful engagement. The impact of their work in many local authorities is that relationship-based practice is prioritised, families and children feel listened to and social workers are able to undertake more successful change work.

L30 has provided Restorative Practice training and development for the Knowsley Schools’ Restorative Practice Project over the last 2 years. They have been an integral part of the project from its inception in 2012, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to help ensure that the project has had the desired impact on the schools within the project.

I am not at all surprised that I am just one of many people to recommend L30. Their enthusiasm and passion for their craft, which is restorative practice, is both contagious and inspirational. L30 have played a major role in assisting us in introducing Restorative Practice in to North Yorkshire, specifically in to our services to Looked After Children, from planning how it could be done, delivering exceptional quality training and creating a plan for developing and maintaining RP as an organic part of the culture in this Authority. Mark continues to be our first choice of support and provider in this work.

L30 is one of the country’s leading trainers in restorative practice across various organisations, including local authorities. They have played in key role when implementing the highly-regarded initiative to make Hull a restorative city. They are supporting Leeds to transform the way we work with the most vulnerable families, using restorative approaches to bring about evidence-based social, cultural and economic benefits.

L30 were a key part of the Learning Together study - a trial looking at the effectiveness of restorative practice in schools. The trial significantly reduced bullying, smoking and alcohol use and improved mental health, school attendance and GCSE educational attainment. Mark and his team provided training in restorative methods for school staff and this was extremely highly rated by schools.
